We invite artists and collectives (up to 2 people) to inhabit a territory in transition and engage with the C:L.A.C.Auditorium-a public space undergoing regeneration through the circular reuse of local materials.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

This is a call for a creative process, not just a performance. This is a live-work residency, where research and daily life coexist, and where the architecture itself acts as your lead collaborator. Our Auditorium is a living, situated artwork waiting for its voice- one that needs to be re-introduced to the local community. We are looking for creators who listen deeply to the building, the landscape, and the people who inhabit it, to develop work that vibrates beyond the structure\u2019s walls and reaches the surrounding territory.<\/p>

We aim to rethink how we connect bridging socio-cultural, economic, and geographic barriers by treating the rural margin as a space of cultural abundance and potential. We strongly encourage applications from collaborative duos (e.g., sound artists\/musicians working with visual coders, light designers, choreographers, or performers).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The C:L.A.C. Auditorium is a living work of art following a precise evolutionary path:<\/span><\/p>

ACT 1 | MATESE, RAW MATERIAL:<\/strong> We listened to the land. Through MATMAP, we mapped the local waste and resources to identify sustainable building blocks.<\/span><\/p>

ACT 2 | THE AUDITORIUM BECOMES HOME: <\/strong>We built the space. Through 4 Creative Labs (The Backstage, The Resonance, The Stalls, The Curtain) experts and citizens worked side-by-side to regenerate the architecture.<\/p>

ACT 3 | THE WORLD MEETS THE MATESE (Your Role):<\/strong> We activate the space. Now that the instrument is built, we invite artists to play it. This call marks the official opening of Act 3.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Selected projects will act as bridges, connecting three vital elements:<\/span><\/p>

  1. The Protagonist (The Auditorium): <\/strong>Using its and architecture as a living instrument and physical resonator.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  2. The Environment (The Matese):<\/strong>:<\/strong> Harvesting the sounds, rhythms, and materials of the rural landscape to bring the \"outside\" in. We seek beauty, resilience, and poetry in a territory with its own stubborn, fascinating specificities.<\/span>

  3. The Audience (The Community): <\/strong>Engaging local residents of the Matese area not as passive spectators, but as co-creators and active knowledge-holders.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The Auditorium is a public asset; its regeneration marks a new beginning. Yet, for many residents, it remains a distant space. For this reason, selected projects must integrate community engagement into the core of their artistic process.<\/span><\/p>

    We invite artists to develop work that engages with the people, memories, and practices defining the Matese territory. The local population is not merely the audience; they are one of your primary creative resources. We look for artists practicing Relational Aesthetics, where the interaction itself is the artwork. The Auditorium is your starting point, not your boundary. Proposals must demonstrate how the work connects the cultural venue to the surrounding territory, reaching into the everyday lives of residents (in the piazza, bars, streets, etc.).<\/span><\/p>

    During the residency, artists are expected to host moments of public sharing (open studios, informal meetings) and realize at least one collaborative activity with the local community (workshops, deep-listening walks, intergenerational creative sessions, or other participatory practices). The goal is not merely to collect materials or testimonials, but to co-create through a process of cultural and artistic activation. It is essential that those involved recognize a trace of their own contribution within the final work.<\/span><\/p>

    The final output can take any form (performance, live media, sound installation, etc.). We encourage applicants to reflect on how their project can continue to resonate within the territory after the residency, leaving behind a tangible -material, digital, or relational- trace that belongs to the community.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The Venue<\/strong>: 24\/7 exclusive access to the C:L.A.C. Auditorium as your primary laboratory and stage.<\/span><\/p>

    Complex Facilities<\/strong>: The C:L.A.C. complex, adjacent to the Auditorium, provides WiFi, various workshop areas, and a shared kitchenette.<\/span><\/p>

    1. Biography (Max 200 words):<\/strong> Focus on your site-responsive, intermedia, or sound-art experience. Include the date of birth, nationality, and current residence for each member.<\/p><\/li>

    2. Project Proposal (Max 800 words):<\/strong> Describe your working method and process. How will you approach the territory and engage the community? How will your work move between the building and public space? What permanent trace or archive do you intend to leave behind?<\/span><\/p><\/li>

    3. Portfolio (Max 5 pages):<\/strong> Images, brief descriptions, and active links to audio\/video streams of previous relevant work.<\/span><\/p><\/li>
