ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The competition is open to adult directors of any nationality. Given the nature of the selection, candidates are required to be capable of independently managing every stage of the production of a short film.

The organization will not provide technical equipment; the provision of such gear remains the exclusive responsability of the partecipants.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Applications will be evaluated by an internal commission of the Fate Cinema organization. Partecipation does not involve any financial compensation for the selected directors. The organization reserves the right to announce the results of the selection even before the deadline, should the applications be deemed particularly meritorious. In the event of a tie in evaluation, priority will be given to candidates who have never participated in previous editions of Fate Cinema.

ORGANIZATION, TRANSPORT AND HOSPITALITY

The organization will provide hospitality for the selected directors for the entire duration of the event in a residence located within the municipality of San Potito Sannitico. Hospitality includes accomodation only. Travel expenses (round trip) and local transfers are the responsability of the partecipants. Any assistants or companions must independently cover their own accomodation and logistics costs.

ACTORS, EXTRAS, CAST, AND SOUNDTRACKS

At the beginning of the lab, the directors of the VI edition will meet actors, extras, musicians, and local professionals ready to collaborate on the production. To ensure the fairness of the competition, actors playing lead roles may participate in only one short film in the competition..

Regarding the soundtrack, the use of original music or music duly authorized by the copyright holders is required; the responsibility for the release remains exclusively with the director. It is an essential condition for participation, under penalty of exclusion from the competition, that all filming be carried out within the territory of San Potito Sannitico with the involvement of local performers. The organization declines all responsibility in the event of legal disputes arising from failure to comply with these rules.

PRIVACY

In accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and current national legislation, candidates are informed that personal data contained in the application forms will be collected and processed by the organizers solely for the purposes of carrying out the selection process, organizing the laboratory, and for the project's institutional communication activities of Fate Cinema.

Processing will be carried out in compliance with the principles of fairness, lawfulness, and transparency, ensuring data security and confidentiality. The provision of data is necessary for participation in the selection. Participants may exercise their rights (access, rectification, cancellation, or opposition) at any time by sending a communication to infofatecinema@gmail.com.

PLEASE NOTE

Every short film must open with an official graphic screen provided by the organization. The intellectual property and copyrights of the realized works remain with the respective authors. However, by participating in the festival, directors grant Fate Lab and the Pro Loco “Genius Loci” of San Potito Sannitico free, unlimited, and perpetual authorization to use the works for promotional, educational, and commercial purposes related to Fate Cinema.
